musing-mondays-big1 Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about assigned reading…

How did you react to assigned reading when you were in school/university/ college/etc? How do you think on these books now? What book were you ‘forced’ to read when you where in school that you’ve since reread and loved?

I was always a geek, surprise, surprise, and I never really minded the assigned readings, especially in college when I only took Lit classes I was actually interested in. To be honest, I even read books that my friends were assigned to read in classes I wasn’t even taking. I don’t remember any that I hated then but have reread and loved.

See how others responded.

  • I never minded assigned reading, either. I found it kind of exciting! Reading books that I “had” to read was a motivation for me to branch out from my usual genre, contemporary fiction, and read some of the classics I probably would never have picked up as a student.
