size-22Size 2 for Life by Ashley Marriott and Marc L. Paulson, MD

Description:

We didn’t start life as a size 8, 12, 16 or more. So how did we get here? Well, the simple truth is we ate, and we ate, and we ate! So how do we turn things around and get back to the way we deserve? Size 2 for Life shows us how. Presented in clear and easily understood language this amazingly simple new diet and fitness program can make and keep almost any woman a size 2. Included are simple tests to gauge one’s current status, a complete diet and exercise program as well as the 21-Day, 2 for Life, quick-start plan for rapid results. Renowned fitness expert, Ashley Marriott and Stanford trained, Dr. Marc Paulsen are on a mission to get people fit and look the way they truly can.

My thoughts:

I think there’s a reason I’m not a Size 2. I just don’t have the kind of commitment it takes. This book is very nicely set up though. It gives some good exercies, both for at the gym and at home, and emphasizes aerobic activities. I don’t think I can wake up and manage the 40 minutes to an hour of exercise they want me to do first thing in the morning, though, and another 40 minutes in the evening. I just don’t know where to find the time.

There are also great, heathly good suggestions, lots of vegetables and low fat meats. I think I’ve seen most of this information in other places, but it’s good to be reminded.

My favorite part of the book is that it is set up in 21 days, with a plan for each day. Most days start with an action step, proceed to exercise, and give meal suggestions. In the back of the book is a meal plan with options for breakfasts, lunches and dinners. It’s a well-organized book and I think would be a great way to get started losing weight.

Sounds like a neat book, please enter me! Only weight loss “secret” I have, is a deal I made with the husband. If he works out in the morning, I’ll work out at night. This way, we can each have a kid free workout, and it’s quite encouraging to each other!

  • i would love an entry. and my secret is that I make the gym fun. It is “me” time where no one can call me on my cell phone or email me. It is like a hiding place that i love. a sanctuary, if you will.

    Bridget – Thank you!

Lauren – That’s a great idea! Finding the time is always the problem for me. Well, that and commitment.

Erika Lynn – The way you describe, going to the gym does sound fun.

Sounds interesting, I’d love to loose the winter weight I’ve managed to put on, although the gym is way to intimidating for me, I can’t wait til the snow leaves so I can start going on longer walks with my dog (its hard to walk much in the country with no sidewalks and a ton fo snow)

While I don’t think I’ll ever be a size 2, I’d love to read this book. Shoot, I’d love to just be closer to size 2 than 22, haha!

    I would love an entry!

A good way to loose weight is to use less sugar and try ‘Stevia’ (a natural product!) as a sweetener. You’ll be amazed how less sugar in your diet can take off the pounds! Seriously!

    Thank you!

  • Someday, I am going to write the ultimate diet book. It will be called ‘The ELMM Diet’.

Ok, I will share the entire book with you all!

    E- eat
    L- less
    M- move
    M- more

Yes, EAT LESS MOVE MORE. that’s it. 🙂

I would still like to be entered…lol
