Even though it was a pretty quiet week, I didn’t actually read much. I’m not sure what I was doing, though. The house and yard still need work; I’m not caught up on laundry or dishes;  I didn’t go anywhere aside from shopping on Saturday. Oh well. I did post a couple of reviews though. I thought Green Like God by Jonathan Merritt was really worthwhile, at least for me. I was disappointed with The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, though. It just didn’t grab me the way I thought it would.

I didn’t do anything interesting but on Thursday David and Amber went mushroom hunting. They went to a friend’s tree farm and picked morels. The next evening, David cut them up, coated them in flour and then fried them up in butter. Delicious! I remember the first year we did it. I was a little leery, because everyone knows you don’t eat mushrooms you find in the wild, but these really are so distinctive there’s no mistaking them.

This coming weekend we’re heading down to Columbus to visit with Rob and Kerri (my brother and sister-in-law) and I’m dragging them to the Ohioana Book Festival. Actually, I’m not forcing them, they’re welcome to find something else to do as long as they drop me off and pick me up.

I didn’t get any new books in the mail this week, but Amber picked up a copy of The Ice Dragon by George R. R. Martin. I did get a really nice surprise though. Rob sent me this awesome t-shirt. Don’t you love it? My family and friends are so great about indulging my reading and blogging. Okay, they make fun of me occasionally, but that’s alright.

How was your week? Anything exciting coming up?
