My first post was over two years ago, and I actually do remember why I started this blog in the first place. I had just discovered the world of book blogs and thought had to join in. And I’ve never regretted it. It’s fun, talking about books I love or hate, sharing bits of my life, showing off my photos, “meeting” new people from all over the world.

I have to admit that I love the internet. Face-to-face, I’m not totally comfortable, and I’m horrible on the phone. The internet and e-mail have liberated me. I can write whatever I want- if people care enough to read it great, if not that’s fine too. At heart, my blog is for me. It’s about the things I enjoy, the people I love. It made me happy in the beginning and still does.

Why did you start blogging?

  • I am like that too, I love being able to talk to everyone and just feeling so free. Like a completely different person.

Anway, I started mine cos I wanted to blog about books, but mostly I wanted to talk about books with other people.

  • Congrats on 2 years. Time sure flies doesn’t it. I started blogging because a friend of mine had started one and after I had seen the whole world of book blogs I was hooked and started mine. I’ve never looked back. I’ve had such fun and met such great people.

  • Good for you for keeping up your blog for so long!

I started because I had heard you could make a lot of money from starting a blog. I haven’t made any money, but I discovered that blogging is a great way to encourage my love of writing. So I’m still blogging after a year with no plan to stop any time soon.

  • Congrats on 2 years! I’m really shy in person and don’t like talking on the phone, so I hear you about the Internet making you more outgoing.

I started my blog to record my thoughts on books (and knitting, though I hardly do that anymore), and I’m pleased that I’ve kept with it for so long.

  • Happy two years to you, Carol! I really enjoy blogging and all the interaction with everyone too. I originally started out with a blog on MySpace where I mostly blogged about books…but hardly anybody read it…LOL! Only when Twitter came on the scene and I met Ryan (Wordsmithonia) did I find out about this vast and wonderful book blogging community. I love every minute of it and when people ask me why I spend so much time online, I think, “They’ll never understand.” Book blogging and book bloggers are a different animal and frankly, I’m proud to be one of them!

  • Congratulations on two great years!! I started blogging simply for myself and then discovered the book blog world! One of the best decisions of my life! 🙂

  • What bookworm doesn’t like talking about books and all things bookish? Joining the book blogging community has been so enlivening for me – connecting with booklovers from all over the world and finding out about so many more books I never would have picked up on my own.

    Congratulations on your blogging milestone!

  • Ciao all the best for 2011. I am back at last catching up on all the posts I missed while I was away from computing. I have enjoyed catching up with your posts this afternoon.

I started two blogs one to keep in touch with family and friends when we moved to Italy and the other one to indulge my love of books.
