How was everyone’s weekend? The weather was actually beautiful here and we got some work done outside yesterday.

Two new books arrived at my house this week.

Have Gun, Will Play by Camille LaGuire

(Purchased)

Mick and Casey McKee aren’t exactly your average gunslingers. He’s young and inexperienced, and has much too sunny a disposition for a gunman. She’s younger, meaner, less experienced, but a much better shot. They got married the day they met and still getting to know each other.

When they get a job protecting the daughter of a stagecoach king–and her grand collection of toys–it seems like an opportunity to go someplace new. But after the wrong kidnapping, a murder, another wrong kidnapping, a couple of jewel heists and a few knocks to the head, Mick and Casey are left holding the bag of toys. Mick, however, is not as dumb as he seems, and as for Casey…nobody steals her gun and gets away with it.

The Billionaire’s Unexpected Heir by Kathie Denosky

(From Harlequin Ambassadors)

Becoming the new owner of Hickory Hills Thoroughbred farm was not in billionaire Jake Garnier’s plans. Becoming a father was even more unimaginable. For his new business came with one Heather McGwire, ranch manager…and mother to Jake’s secret child.

After barely surviving his own father’s desertion, Jake knew he couldn’t walk away from his responsibilities. Marriage seemed the only solution. Yet Heather wouldn’t settle for simple sweet talk and seduction. If Jake wanted a real family, he’d have to saddle up for the long ride.
