Yeah, we played Nuts once a couple of weekends ago and I just don’t think it’s going to hit our table very often. It sounds cute enough. You’re a bunch of squirrels gathering nuts, because squirrels love nuts, will do anything they can to get their paws on nuts, espcially big nuts. And they hat it when other people try to mess their nuts. Yeah, you see where this is going, right?

Players gain a Nut card from the Nut card draw pile at the beginning of their turn but they can also grab other’s Nuts by using a Grab card. Of course, people have Defense cards to block you from touching their nuts or make you steal from someone else instead. The goal is to gather 20 points worth of nuts. Each Nut card has a value on it from the measly 1 to the awesome Nut Henge worth 7 points. I like the pecan pie, personally.

The cards have titles like Grab The Nuts or Whose Got The Biggest Nuts, supposed to be funny, but to be quite honest the twelve year-old boy humor gets old quick. It’s a quick game but it felt like it took forever. Of course, it’s possible I just don’t have a sense of humor.

In all fairness, it is, at least in theory, a quick game for 2-6 players, age 13 and up. It’s easy to stick in your bag and carry around. The cards are cute, bright and cartoony. But it’s going on the bottom shelf.
