Week’s Highlight:

Amber’s home for the week!

We also went to a friend’s wedding reception. We had a nice time and the venue was really perfect for them.

I posted a few reviews this week:

I’ve been looking at my reading challenges for the year. I’ve completed the Cloak and Dagger Challenge and should probably do a wrap-up post. I’m one book behind on both the Back to the Classics and Nonfiction Challenges. I’m in the middle of The Last Castle, which will count toward nonfiction. And just started The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith on audio, which will count as a classic from the Americas for Back to the Classics. I should think about Christmassy books that would fit.

Next year, I’ll be taking over the Cloak and Dagger Reading Challenge. It’s one of my favorites so I’m happy I can keep it going after Stormi at Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! decided to no longer host. So, keep an eye out for sign-ups closer to January and let me know if you have any suggestions.

Looking forward to:

Our vacation starts next Sunday. We’re going to Asheville first and then heading down to Charleston, SC. The bad thing is David apparently pulled a muscle in his back and it’s currently having trouble walking much. He’s got some muscle relaxers- hopefully he feels better soon.

  • What a fun place for a wedding! I bet the weather was perfect at this time of the year.

You are doing a wonderful job on your challenges. I’m planning to do Nonfiction November. I hope to read a lot of nonfiction then.

I hope you have a good time on your vacation. I’ve never been to that part of the world.

    Have a great week.

  • I gave up on my challenges this year because I’ve been so behind on reading/reviews. Hopefully next year I’ll do better. I’ve never joined the Cloak and Dagger Challenge but I love the mystery/suspense/thriller/crime genres so I think I’ll join in 2020.

I hope David’s back heals quickly and that you two have a great vacation!

    • Nothing wrong with giving up on challenges. For me, they help me read genres aside from mysteries.
David’s going to the doctor tomorrow since the pills they gave him at express care haven’t helped much.

    • It’s nice to have Amber home, but her break has been a little boring so far – waited in the waiting room at Express Care with David, helped me take the dog to the vet.
