THE RULES:

  • All books must have been written at least 50 years ago to qualify; therefore, books must have been published no later than 1971 for this challenge. The only exceptions to this rule are books published posthumously but written before 1971. Recent translations of classic novels are acceptable.
  • All books must be read from January 1 through December 31, 2021. Books started before January 1 do not qualify. All reviews must be linked to this challenge by 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2021.
  • The deadline to sign up for the challenge is March 1, 2021.
  • Books may NOT cross over within this challenge — that is, you may not count the same book multiple times within this challenge. You MUST read a different book for each category in this challenge, or it doesn’t count.

Invalid challenge name.

I am going to sign up for this challenge and also for the Nonfiction Reader Challenge, which I see you have also signed up for. Also for your Cloak and Dagger challenge, since I read mostly mysteries. The hardest part for me is keeping up with the reviews.

I really enjoyed Three Men in a Boat; it was so humorous and silly! The Wind in the Willows is also fun, especially if you have a copy with beautiful illustrations to compliment the great writing. Middlemarch was long, but I felt like to went by quickly because the different plots were so intriguing. There was a short passage with British political terms I wasn’t familiar with, but I skimmed that part and it didn’t seem necessary that I understand Victorian government to enjoy the book
