Sci-Fi Summer Readathon

The Sci-Fi Summer Readathon starts today. Thanks, Michelle, for hosting again this year. From Season of Reading: Read-a-Thon dates: June 1 at 12:00am CDT until June 30 at 11:59pm CDT. Since science fiction is a very specific genre, this will be strictly reading science fiction during the event. However, since fantasy is so closely related to the genre (often grouped together), if you feel more comfortable reading fantasy, that is also fine. It's the day! And I don't work tomorrow. And I don't have anywhere to go today. So it's time to read. I'll be trying to update this post throughout the day/night. I'm also on Twitter and Instagram. Opening Survey: 1)What fine part of the world are you reading from today? And what time is it where you are? I am in eastern Ohio. The Readathon started at 8:00 a.m., but I'm starting at 10:00. I slept in a bit. 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I don't really have much of a game plan, but my Classics Club spin book is supposed to be delivered this afternoon, so I might read a bit of that. 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Since most of us are stuck in our houses this weekend, I'm happy for the 24 in 48 Readathon, http://24in48.com. No prizes, no challenges, just book, food and connecting on-line. Thankfully Reading Weekend

Thankfully Reading Weekend, hosted at Jenn's Bookshelves, starts today. Yes, I'm working today, but it's quiet here and I can probably spend some time listening to an audiobook. There are no rules to the weekend, we’re simply hoping to devote a good amount of time to reading, and perhaps meeting some of our reading challenges and goals for the year. And any amount of time reading is fine, whether it's one hour or all day. Our hashtag is #thankfullyreading. I don't know how much time I'll have for reading this weekend, but I'm sure I'll be able to fit in some. Amber comes home tonight and we'll drive her back to college on Sunday afternoon. Summer Reverse Readathon

The Reverse Summer Readathon starts now! I love the 8pm – 8pm eastern set-up. I won't be able to read the whole time. I'll fall asleep sometime tomight and we are hosting a cookout tomorrow, but I should get some reading time in. I’m prepared: I’ve got my snacks, I’ve got my books, I’ve got food for meals and plenty of coffee and pop.
