Yesterday was the Read-a-Thon, so I put off my Game Night post until today.

It’s been a while since we’ve played this one, but I love the King Arthur theme. You are one of the Knights of the Round Table and evil forces are gathering around Camelot and you must all join forces to protect the land. You and the others go on a variety of legendary quests, such as the search for Excalibur, the Holy Grail, or Lancelot’s Armor; the tournament against the Black Knight; and numerous wars against the Saxons and Picts.

But watch out, there may be a traitor in your midst. This in at heart a cooperative game. The players must work together to defeat evil, but there may be one player in their ranks who is a traitor, who want to promote chaos and destruction. Or there may not be. It’s tough to balance between suspicion and cooperation.

Like I said, it’s been a while since we’ve played this. And we’ve only played it a couple of times, but I think the fact that you have to plan and work together makes it interesting. Much of the enjoyment for me, though, comes from the theme, which is clear and consistent throughout the entire game, and I have to admit to being a sucker for things connected with the Arthurian legend.

A fun game, not the best out there, but enjoyable, especially for dorks like me. Like so many Days of Wonder games, the components are gorgeous. I have to say I really do like their games. I’m looking forward to picking up Mystery Express.

The copy we played was borrowed from my brother. I am an Amazon and Funagain Games affiliate.
