We’ve seen a couple of movies recently, in the comfort of our own basement.
Alpha and Omega (2010)
Amber (11) has been wanting to see this one since the first preview we saw. If it has wolves, it has to be good. There’s a girl alpha wolf and a boy omega wolf who get transported to a new park. They have to work together to get home, and of course fall in love along the way. Amber said she liked, I though it was so-so. Even Amber commented that she wished they didn’t act so much like people. I did like that the girl was strong and a leader. And the whole opposites attract thing has been done over and over, but it’s always pretty cute.
The American (2010)
David and I watched this and I think it officially lost me the next three movie picks. George Clooney, assassin in love with a prostitute, I though David would like it. I was wrong. He didn’t hate it, but it’s a very quiet, restrained movie, not something he would choose to watch. I liked it, but didn’t love it. It was an interesting take on the story. Clooney is trying to get out of the business, and has settled into a quiet town while working for one last client. What I didn’t like was the ending, inevitable, but still a cliché.
Have you seen any good movies lately?
We watched 20 mins of the American but got bored, perhaps we will give it another go. Cos I heard that there was a Finnish actress in it :=)
My kids wanted to see Alpha and Omega. They watched it twice and both times I lost interest and went to do something else for parts of the film. From the way it looked at home I bet it would have been neat to have seen in 3D but I hate how much it would cost to take our whole family.
I’ve picked up The American twice and both times put it back. Eventually we’ll see it.
I love, love, loved Going the Distance. My husband and I both enjoyed Knight and Day too.
Isn’t the price of a 3D ticket absolutely outrageous?
I’ve been wondering if my kids would enjoy Alpha & Omega. I’m going to try to pick it up one of these days!
I haven’t seen any movies that I would personally rave about these days. I’m really in need of a good one!!
Alpha and Omega looks like its a cute movie. We didn’t go see it in the theaters as the price to get in these days we figured we would wait for it to come in dvd. But my son is older now and doesn’t like to go to the kid movies. But I think we might watch it some time here. 🙂 Thanks!
I love that “if it has wolves it has to be good!” Is that the same with books? 🙂
Pretty much, yeah. Wolves and dragons.
Green Hornet was funny and had great action scenes.
I havent seen these. Alpha and Omega does sound cute. My most recent fav movie is Inception.
