So, you’re probably wondering what Octavia Spencer and I do have in common, right? And Morgan Freeman and Tina Fey, too. Chocolate. David brought home a few chocolates from work yesterday for Amber and me – two each. And they were delicious. I don’t know what flavors Amber had, but I had a vanilla cupcake one and a peanut butter and jelly one. They were rich, decadent, melt-in-your mouth goodness. And simply gorgeous to look at. Definitely candy for grown-ups.
So I had to do a little research today. Turns out they were from Norman Love Confections. And guess what was in some of the gift bags given out at the Academy Awards- boxes of Norman Love chocolates.
Granted, they are far from cheap, but for a special occasion a box of these would be heavenly. And if I ever happen to be in Fort Meyers, Florida, you can bet the Chocolate Salon will be on my list of places to visit.

That was so sweet of him…and you really made me hungry for chocolates.
They sent a box to the office, hoping they would order some. So I guess they had spent the afternoon devouring chocolate. We were lucky he got to bring any home.
They sound wonderful. I love it when my better half surprises me with these types of gifts. I don’t need a lot of gifts or expensive gifts, but little things like this make my day. And I never complain when I get the leftovers from the office. They eat better than I do on most days 🙂 Now I’m hoping I get some chocolate soon!

Delectable! And as an occasional treat, I think it’s great to surprise someone — or yourself — with things like this. That’s why I don’t mind paying $3 for a cupcake now and then, or grabbing a $4 latte. I don’t do it all the time, so why not indulge once in a while? Life is too short not to!
