Director: Colin Trevorrow

Production companies: Legendary Pictures and Amblin Entertainment

Release date: Jun 12, 2015

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly.

Dinosaurs are cool. Chris Pratt is sexy. The kids survive. And it’s a fun movie. That’s all you need to know.

I’ve always loved Jurassic Park, so Jurassic World was on my must-watch list this summer, along with everyone else apparently. We saw it last Sunday and it’s the first time I’ve been to a sold-out showing at our town’s theater in years. Amber doesn’t like 3D, so we saw it in 2D, although there were some points where I thought, “I bet the 3D on this is pretty good.”

A giant, new dinosaur gets loose in the park, a genetically-created dinosaur who is basically a killing machine. Chaos and bloodshed ensue. We have some heroes, some bad guys, some just naïve people. The ones we care about get a happy ending, well except for a few of the critters I was rooting for. It’s what I was expecting and I enjoyed it.
