Bookish and Not So Bookish Thoughts is a weekly blogging event hosted by Bookishly Boisterous. It allows book bloggers (and non-book bloggers) to write about pretty much anything, bookish or otherwise (i.e. share exciting plans for the weekend, rants on things encountered during the week, etc.) Head over to her blog to link-up.

1. My brother and his family were visiting this weekend. I didn’t get many pictures, but this is his oldest with the second-oldest peeking over her shoulder. They are both cuties. The two youngest are twins about 6 months old, but I failed as an aunt and didn’t get any photos of them.

2. I’ve been doing pretty good with the paleo challenge when we eat at home. I’ve been giving myself leeway when we’re out though. I can’t go to an Italian restaurant and not have spaghetti or pass up my mom’s wonderful baked beans.

3. By the way, if you ever visit Kenyon College, the Village Inn restaurant is really good. I had the Thai Peanut Chicken wrap and hummus with pita – delicious! Our trip to Kenyon was good. Amber even thought the interview went well. Now she just has to get in, which is easier said than done. (And we have to figure out a way to pay for it, but it seems like such a perfect fit for her, we’ll make it work.)

4. I have to start working on CE – blah. My hours are due by the end of November.

5. I finished Glass Houses by Louise Penny on audio. I enjoyed it and I do love the characters Penny’s created. It’s not my favorite of the series, though. The scope is too big; I tend to like smaller mysteries with a limited cast. Next up on audio is The Haunted Season by  G.M. Malliet. I’m also currently, supposedly reading an ebook of hers, Weycombe. I’m having trouble getting into it. Has anyone read it? Is it worth pushing on or should I just set it aside?

6. We registered for the Catch for Cancer with the Allegheny Health Network and Pittsburgh Pirates. It should be fun and maybe we’ll help set a Guiness World Record for the largest game of catch.

How was your week? Any plans for this week?
