This year, I’m participating in tthe R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril X (RIP-X) reading event hosted by The Estella Society. It runs from September 1st through October 31st and involves reading books and watching movies and TV shows from the following categories: mystery, suspense, thriller, dark fantasy, gothic, horror, and supernatural. The rules are simple…
1. Have fun reading (and watching).
2. Share that fun with others.
There are several reading levels called Perils involved in this event. Check out the master post for full details. My chosen Perils are below.
Peril the First involves reading a minimum of four books that fit within the previously mentioned categories. I know I plan on reading/listening to The Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny and Candy Corn Murder by Leslie Meier. I’m not sure what else.
Books I’ve read:
The Nature of the Beast by Louise Penny
Candy Corn Murder by Leslie Meier
Peril of the Short Story clearly involves reading short stories. I think I have a few collections of short stories that would fit the theme or maybe some Thursday Tales.
Stories I’ve read:
“The Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allan Poe
“The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar Allan Poe
The group this year is co-hosted by Amanda at Fig and Thistle. We’ll be reading Lauren Owen’s The Quick.
Are you joining in on the fun?
I hope you rock the challenge!
A challenge several of my blogger buddies are taking part in. Good luck, I look forward to reading which books you will be reviewing as part of the challenge.
