I'm still not doing very well on my daily step count. I really need it to thaw out a little outside. This weather sucks the energy out of me.
You can tell the only day I made it to the gym was Thursday. I spent about a half-hour on the elliptical. Apparently walking around the aviary on Saturday wasn't actually as much walking as it seemed.
Wednesday's are almost impossible to get my steps in, let alone any additional exercise. I work til 5, then I'm at the church from 5:45-8ish. After that, I'm usually done for the day.
I'm thinking this week I can maybe get the gym or a walk in today. I can definitely hit the gym on Thursday and maybe Saturday. I can do some weights/yoga at home on the other days.
Readers' Workouts is hosted by Joy at Joy's Book Blog. Thanks!...
I'm still not doing very well on my daily step count, but now that the holidays are over, I can get back into some kind of routine. It's so doggone cold today though, and is supposed to be for the rest of the week. And too snowy for me to want to drive over to the gym.
Remember, Tuesday isn't over yet.
I did sign up for a race in May. It's the Salt Fork Spring Challenge, a 10 mile trail run. I find I'm better off if I have a goal I'm working toward, and it sounds fun. Or dangerous. And David figures he'll get to fish while I'm running. We're thinking about spending the night before at the lodge, making it a mini-getaway.
I'm also reading a "health" book, Good Health, Good Life by Joyce Meyer, but it doesn't really have anything I didn't already know. It does include action steps, but they're not really clicking for me. I'm not impressed,...
David and Amber got me the Fitbit I wanted for Christmas. So far, I've learned so far is that it's really hard to get in 10,000 steps a day. I've only made it once, but it has been busy with holiday stuff and feeling a little under the weather yesterday. I don't even want to think about all the cookies and candy I've eaten either.
The new year starts Thursday, which is as good a time as any to get back on track. If I can make it to the gym/run outside three times a week, I'll be happy.
Two fitnessy goals for the new year: Move more. Eat less pasta and more veggies. (Seems like those are always my goals.)
