Mailbox Monday

Thanks to Marcia at The Printed Page for hosting Mailbox Monday. These are the books that I found in my mailbox or door this week . Alright, we also went back to the sale at Waldenbooks and picked up the last three on my list.    The Fire King (A Dirk & Steele Romance) by Marjorie Liu Received from Dorchester Publishing. Long ago, shape-shifters were plentiful, soaring through the sky as crows, racing across African veldts as cheetahs, raging furious as dragons atop the Himalayas. Like gods, they reigned supreme. Strong as a lion, quick as a serpent, Karr is his name, and in his day he was king. But he is a son of strife,...

Interview with Rita Herron, author of Dark Hunger

I want to thank Rita Herron, author of Dark Hunger, for answering a few questions for me today. You can see my thoughts on the book below and keep reading for a chance to win a copy of the book for yourself.   Thanks again Rita for answering a few questions today. I really appreciate it. What draws you to writing romance? Why paranormal romance in particular? Once I started reading romance, I was hooked, so it seemed natural that I would write romance. Before reading romance though, I’d always enjoyed mysteries/suspense. After reading Tami Hoag’s Cry Wolf, I knew that was the type of book I wanted to write, one filled with great characters, an interesting setting, page-turning suspense, and romance --  one that had a happily-ever-after ending. I’m also drawn to romance because I like the optimism and hope that it offers. Our world is filled with so much dismal news, that I think it’s important that we escape, and that we...

Dark Hunger by Rita Herron

Dark Hunger (The Demonborn #2) by Rita Herron Reporter Annabelle Armstrong will go to any lengths to deliver a story, even track down Quinton Valtrez, a man she believes is a coldhearted assassin. Yet the truth about the darkly sensual Quinton is even more shocking...and the overwhelming desire he ignites is one she vows to resist. Quinton has fought his demonic powers since he was a child. Now using his gifts for the good of national security, he can't let himself be distracted by the beautiful, determined Annabelle. But his need for her is sudden, fierce--and could soon cost Annabelle her life. For a wicked enemy is out for vengeance, a demon who wants to draw Quinton into a life of pure evil and is willing to use Annabelle as bait. To save her, Quinton must achieve the near impossible: tame the sinister force that is both his inheritance and his curse before it claims him forever. My thoughts: This one was a slow start...
