State of the ARC is hosted by Avalinah’s Books and the goal is to help track your ARC progress! I have a bad habit of requesting/accepting way more books than I should, so I thought this might be fun to try. If you want to join in, head over to Avalinah’s Books and link up. I actually meant to have this post up a few days ago, but it didn’t pull together as easy as I’d hoped. Today is my baseline, next month I’ll note what I added to/knocked off the list. On the older Netgalley titles, I’m only counting the ones I’ve downloaded in the last year, because let’s be honest, is there much chance of me reading ones that I picked up before then? And if I included the older ones, the number of overdue reads would be unmanageable. It would total over 100.
One of my current reads is an ARC I got months ago.
This month is the second half of RIP and the FrightFall Readathon, so I’m hoping to know some of the mysteries off the list. The 24-hour Readathon is in a few weeks too, but I usually read non-ARCS for that, since I find it a little tough to give full-fledged reviews for books I read during that event.
Yeah, I’m bad about netgalley. I need to do a better job of reading ebooks.
I’m going to try to do better, especially since I just added two more.
I’m terrible about getting NetGalley reviews done. I finally stopped accepting/requesting books from them.
I should stop, but I do so love them!
Hey, your numbers aren’t that bad! You can totally do it! (I am the hopeless case here :D)
I hope you can get those off the list, especially if they’re sort of creepy themed and work well for October 🙂
They’re only reasonable because I left off the ones older than a year.
I like the idea of keeping track of what you add and get read next month. I will probably do that as well. I think this is really motivating me to get some ARCs read. I need accountability to motivate me.
Accountability really does help me.
I do the NetGalley Challenge to help me stay on track there. I just added a stack (10) so I’ll be reading those till the end of the year I guess.
I only took a couple of titles at Edelweiss before I decided I couldn’t handle that one on top of the rest.
Your numbers look like you can get to them. Dig in and enjoy the reading!
Maybe I should do the NetGalley Challenge next year.
Hey Carol! Your numbers (at least for this year) seem very manageable! Hopefully you have a successful month and are able to knock some of those numbers down even more!
Just finished one this weekend, so that’s good.
Whoo hoo! Congrats!
🙂
Good luck with your readathons!
