Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about award winning books…
Do you feel compelled to read prize-winning (Giller/Booker/Pulitzer etc) books? Why, or why not? Is there, perhaps, one particular award that you favour? (courtesy of MizB)
No, I don’t search out prize-winning books, in general. I am in a book goup that has a “prize winner” category about twice a year, though, and I do usually read that selection. I don’t really have a favorite prize, either. Sometimes I think I should make more of an effort to read award winners, especially those that have won the Pulitzer Prize, but I never get around to actually doing it.
I agree with you . My post is here, http://zetor-mogsblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/musing-mondays_15.html
I’m trying to recall if I’ve ever read a Pulitzer. mine
Oh I started a book discussion forum called Cafe Blue. Hope you can drop by for a visit. Cafe Blue
I like to read the older Pulitzers.
I don’t seek them out either. I just like to read things that sound like they’re going to be something I’d like.
