Jordan by Susan Kearney

I am definitely a fan of this series, a unique futuristic romance series where humanity and their allies are fighting against the Tribes who conquer or destroy planets across the galaxy. I’ve read all three in order, but I think you could probably jump in at this one and enjoy it.

This third installment focuses on Jordan, who has been present in the first two, but not in his very sexy human form. Jordan has lived 1600 years, helped King Arthur, understands the war that humanity is fighting with the Tribes and realizes he is the only hope for defeating the Tribes once and for all. He will do whatever he has to to accomplish his mission.

Once again, Kearney falls back on kidnapping, unfortunately. Jordan basically kidnaps Vivianne and a whole crew of people, forcing them to head out into space aboard a ship he helped design and build, the Draco. I don’t like the kidnapping scenario, but I’ll forgive Kearney again, just like I did for Rion, because the hero and heroine fit so well together. They’re both strong, believe in defeating the enemy. They’re independent, but drawn to each other and they haev no choice but to work together and trust each other. And of course not falling in love is impossible.

The story is a great combination of adventure, romance, mystery and hot sex. Apparently sex in zero gravity is something to be experienced. Alas, I don’t see any space trips in my future.

With his gaze locked with hers, he’d made just tha act of touching incredibly intimate. She forcer her knees to lock. “Right about now…would be a good time for the…ah…gravity to go out.”

“Perhaps that can be arranged,” he murmured, his voice mysterious and silky “But not just yet.” (pg. 146)

I will say that even within this world of dragon-shapers and aliens, some bits were a little difficult to believe, but I’m more than willing to overlook that in such an enjoyable read.
