April Rain SongĀ
by Langston Hughes
Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
That’s a very good reminder, Carol. Thanks! As you know, it’s been incredibly rainy this spring. I’m not at the complaining stage YET; I like rain. But that doesn’t mean I’m not ready for a few sunny days.
I’m tired of the rain too, but then I see the weather that’s happening in other places and I’m thankful that all I have to complain about is a little rain.
How appropriate – it’s raining here today. If it’s not snow, it’s rain.
Excellent post! I enjoyed reading it very much.
Poetry will never loose it’s touch even as we enter this digital age. Thanks for sharing.
