My birthday was in November, so not only did I pick up some books for review, I also received some bookish presents, and my husband and daughter gave me money to move my blog to a self-hosted site, which I love.
So here’s my mailbox for last month. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia ofย A Girl and Her Books and is being hosted by Jenny Q at Let Them Read Books.
These are the presents from my brother and his wife. Aren’t they awesome? If you can’t tell, the t-shirt has the words of “The Raven” by Poe forming the silhouette. And the cup is made out of US corn plastic.
Now the books I received:
The Lola Quartet by Emily St. John Mandell (From Unbridled Books via NetGalley)
Twas the Night by Sandra Hill, Trish Jensen and Kate Holmes (from Bell Bridge Books via NetGalley)
8: The Previously Untold Story of the Previously Unknown 8th Dwarf by Michael Mullin (From the author)
Mrs. Jeffries and the Mistletoe Mix-up byย Emily Brightwell (Won from Kaye at Pudgy Penguin Perusals. Thanks!)
Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by William Joyce (purchased)
You were very busy!!!
What a generous family, happy reading.
What thoughtful and fun gifts! That shirt is really awesome too! Happy belated birthday!
Great birthday gifts and congratulations on the self hosted site! Nicholas St. North looks beautiful!
Nice birthday gifts, enjoy!

Nice, I like bookish gifts.
Enjoy ๐
You had a great birthday! My son has a t-shirt very similar to that one and he always gets comments on it.
I think my daughter wishes she had gotten it. She’s a major Poe fan.
Nice gifts! I have a free wp blog but have been considering self hosting. Was it difficult to switch? I haven’t looked into it so I have no idea, lol. Your review books look good!
I, well my husband, paid for wordpress staff to do all the main work in the changeover. They made sure all my theme, my old posts, comments, images, everything got transferred over. Now I get to play around with it.
Do you mind sharing the cost? I’ve noticed on my dashboard an offer for $17 to have my own domain but I’m thinking what you had done was more $$.
I sent you an e-mail.
Happy belated Birthday ๐ Nice bookish gifts. I like the Raven shirt, very cool.
Good haul ๐ So what’s the biggest advantage to going to a self hosting site?
For me? More control, more choices, the only ads are ones I put up, can use flash widgets. I haven’t messed around with it too much yet.
I love books for gifts. Enjoy!
Oh happy Birthday! A little late, but well, happy birthday. ๐
Looks like a great collection there. ๐ Hope you enjoy them all!
It looks like you had a wonderful birthday. Enjoy your bookish gifts!
That’s a happy birthday!
I clicked on the photo to enlarge it, and could then see the Poe silhouette – what a fantastic design.
