Finally, maybe, I’m making some progress getting moving again.
I made my step goal on Tuesday, even though you can’t see it above. Yay! I took the dog for a walk, which definitely helped. I did a little bit of weightlifting in the evening, too.
I took a short walk on Thursday. And must have done something else too. Maybe I went to the gym? I can’t remember.
We did go bowling on Sunday, so that counts as exercise, right?
Monday I was so close! I should have just stayed up and extra 15-20 minutes and walked around the living room.
And since eating and exercising are so closely related, I thought I’d include a new recipe I tried this week, Amish One-Pan Ground Beef and Cabaage from smilesandwich.com.
I know it’s not pretty, but it was yummy! And so easy.
Amish One-Pan Ground Beef and Cabbage Skillet
Ingredients
1 pound grass-fed ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 – 1 head cabbage, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14.5-oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large pan, brown ground beef until no longer pink. Add onion and continue cooking until translucent. Drain extra fat if needed (or leave it and don’t use the butter). Add garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
- Add butter, cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to the pan and stir to combine. Cover and simmer about 20 – 30 minutes until the cabbage is soft.
Readers’ Workouts is hosted by Joy at Joy’s Book Blog. Thanks!
Keep up the good work!
I have noticed that I walk a lot at work, but on weekends I have to go outside and walk cos yeah, not much movement then
I don’t walk at all at work or very little.
It looks like bowling was enough to get the steps number up! I figure bowling is a sport because I got injured doing it.
That cabbage dish looks yummy. I like cabbage as a winter vegetable.
My husband fell on the bowling lane. He just went over the line and down he went. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt, just embarrassed.
