My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info: My Favorite Meme.
I mostly read mysteries and the main characters seem to attract murders. I’m not sure that I’d really want to go shopping with any of them, for fear of being the secondary character who ends up dead or in jail. Also, most of them are not really into shopping. They’re more likely to work in a bookstore than shop in one, to interrogate the store owner instead of trying on dresses.
Instead, I’m going with where I would like to shop. Okay, I’m skipping the obvious ones – New York, Paris, etc. and going with a purely fictional town, Three Pines from Louise Penny’s Gamache series. There’s the bookstore, the boulangerie, and the bistro and they are all run by the nicest, quirkiest people your could hope to meet. Of course, there’s still the problem of ending up dead or in jail, but at least not every murder in the books takes place in the town.

I’m all for it…
Thought you might be.
I’ve thought about reading this series, but I’d have a lot of books to catch up on.
And it really is one better read from the beginning.
I could go for some shopping!
Me too. I think I need a winter clothes shopping spree,
That sounds like a fun place to shop.
Of course, any place with a bookstore is a fun place to shop.
I wouldn’t want to go shopping with someone who frequently winds up with people jailed or dead nearby. Good choice! That little town sounds so cute, and the photos are lovely!
That’s the problem with characters (and towns) in mysteries. They just seem to attract troubles.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to hang out with any murder mystery characters either. This place looks like a wonderful place to shop!
Granted, it would be hard to write a mystery series without the detective encountering mysteries regularly.
Sounds like a great place to go shopping! Murder or not! LOL!
I would love to go shopping with Hermoine Granger. She would be the perfect shopping partner!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your favorite.
Somehow I am not surprised you picked Hermione. 😉
