One of my goals for this year was to read more classics, so I signed up for the Back to the Classics Challenge, hosted by Karen from Books and Chocolate . The goal was to read between 6 and 12 books, one for each of the given categories. I managed to read 6, which was my goal and also gets me one entry into the giveaway.
Romance Classic: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
19th Century Classic: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (published 1890)
Classic in Translation: Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne (from French)
Classic by a woman author: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
Gothic or Horror Classic: The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
Classic set in a place you’d like to visit: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (London)
Makes me want to re-read Pride and Prejudice 🙂
I re-read it because my daughter was reading it in school and it was fun to discuss it with her.
