Happy Readathon Day! I love readathon days. I don’t have much going on today, so I’ll have plenty of time to read. I’ll be trying to update this post throughout the day/night. I’m also on Twitter and Instagram.
Opening Survey:
- What fine part of the world are you reading from today? And what time is it where you are? I am in eastern Ohio. The Readathon started at 8:00 a.m., but I’m starting at 10:00. I slept in a bit.
- Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I’ve been saving The Low, Low Woods by Carmen Maria Machado for today. I’ve also got a couple of fun cozies from NetGalley I’m hoping to get to.
- Which snack are you most looking forward to? I’ve got cinnamon rolls and ice cream, peanut butter-filled pretzels, and oreos. And spaghetti for dinner.
- Tell us something about yourself. I love mysteries and cozy blankets and hot chocolate.
- What are your goals for this readathon? I don’t really have any goals, just to read.
Half-Point Progress Report
- How many books have you been reading? Have you finished any? Are you on track with respect to your readathon goals so far? I’ve read/listened to parts of three books, one of which I finished.
- Have you eaten real food today? (Not just junk food, ACTUAL HEALTHY FOOD) What was your favorite food or beverage so far? Do spaghetti and pizza count as real foods? I haven’t broken into my snacks yet.
- Have you been participating in any of the activities on our social media (sprints, photo challenges, discussion questions, BINGO, etc.) Not really.
- Are you growing sleepy? Do you plan to nap, or stop early, or are you extending the readathon hours to include sleep? I’ll probably stop early since I have stuff tomorrow I actually need to be awake for.
- Have you been outside yet today? Have you had much exercise (besides the heavy lifting required to hold your book)? I’ve been outside alot. I took one of our dogs on a nice long walk this afternoon and spent a while reading on the patio.
- How is your readathon going, overall? It’s going good, but I always enjoy readathons.

- Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time? I would love to have the following day off so I can read as long as possible and take a nap the next day.
- What Dewey’s social media sites did you visit during this readathon? What activities did you participate in? Do you plan to complete those activities over the remainder of the weekend?
