Friday5

1. A breakfast sandwich is typically made with some kind of bread with egg, cheese, and some kind of breakfast meat. What’s the best variation on this theme you’ve tried, or what variation would you like to try? I like the simple scrambled eggs and cheddar on a bagel. I prefer them without meat, please.

2. A sandwich cookie is typically made with two thin cookies with some kind of sweet, creamy filling. What’s the best variation on this theme you have tried, or what variation would you like to try? Oreos are my favorite. Do they have mint ones, because those would be perfect.

3. A melt sandwich (such as a tuna melt) is typically some kind of bread with some kind of filling plus some kind of cheese, grilled or fried until the cheese is melted. What’s the best variation on this sandwich you’ve tried, or what variation would you like to try? I’m not a sandwich person really, but I have actually had a tuna melt recently. Tuna salad in a pita with cheddar cheese. I at half at the restaurant and took the other half home. I microwaved it for lunch the other day, apparently a little too long, and it must have exploded because when I went to get it there was tuna salad sprayed over the inside of my microwave. Should have used the oven. 🙁

4. If all you do is smear some peanut butter and jelly between two slices of bread, you have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. What do you do in order to make yours just a little better? Good Italian bread, strawberry all-fruit spread, creamy natural peanut better and slices of banana. Or just one piece of warm toast with peanut butter and banana slices.

5. What are your thoughts on sprouts in a sandwich? No thoughts particularly. It’s not something I do, because my husband and daughter wouldn’t eat them.

Play along at Friday 5.

Have a warm, fluffy, cheesy, savory weekend! Any sandwiches on your menu?

1> Hardee’s biscuit sandwiches are my favorites, but I don’t have Hardee’s here in California so I only get them when I go back East.

    2. I don’t know if they still make them, but they used to have the mint filled oreos. There were also a number of other flavors.

    3. Don’t usually eat melts, but I have had good tuna melts and the hamburger melts on rye with grilled onions–I think they have a name but I don’t remember what it is. Good ol’ grilled cheese is my favorite.

    4. White bread, crunchy PB, and grape jelly is my favorite.

    5. I like sprouts in moderation, but my wife refuses to eat them. I’m no big fan though.

The ads in your left side bar still intrude on the comment box which is a bit challenging. Also the notify by email box is covered so I can’t check it. Darn! Oh, wait–I just put a bunch of blank space after my comment and uncovered the little check box so now I’ll get notified.

    • What browser are you using or is it mobile? On IE and Chrome the sidebar seems to stay where it’s supposed to be, at least on my computer and the notify boxes seem okay.

I’m using Chrome. It seems the first ad hangs over into the comment box on the first comment. Everything below that first comment seems to be okay. Right now under the title bar that says “sponsors” the first ad is nudging onto some share buttons and a bit into my gravatar image. When I was commenting the first time the first ad was covering up the first few columns of the comment so that I could not see what I was typing. Everything below looks okay. So I’m not sure what to say about it. Maybe someone else will see what I’m seeing and know more about it.

It’s nothing major, only a mild annoyance for me. Doesn’t affect your blog post in any way.
