It's time to start thinking about 2017 Reading Challenges. I'm not sure how many I'm going to sign up for, but I can't resist the Cloak and Dagger challenge that is being hosted by Stormi at Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! and Barb from Booker T’s Farm again this year.
Rules:
You can read any book that is from the mystery/suspense/thriller/crime genres. Any sub-genres are welcome as long as they incorporate one of these genres.
You don’t need a blog to participate but you do need a place to post your reviews to link up. (blog, goodreads, booklikes, shelfari, etc.)
Make a goal post and link it back tp the sign-up post with your goal for this challenge.
Books need to be novellas or novels, please no short stories. (At least 100 pages +)
Crossovers into other challenges is fine.
Challenge will be from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st. (Sign up ends April 15th)
There will be a monthly link up. If you tweet about your progress or reviews please use...
I am late signing up for this year's Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge, hosted by Michelle at Christmas Spirit.
Here are the details:
Challenge will run from Monday, November 21, 2016 through Friday, January 6, 2017 (Twelfth Night or Epiphany).
Cross over with other challenges is totally permitted AND encouraged!
These must be Christmas novels, books about Christmas lore, a book of Christmas short stories or poems, books about Christmas crafts, and for the first time...a children's Christmas books level!
Levels:
--Candy Cane: read 1 book
--Mistletoe: read 2-4 books
--Christmas Tree: read 5 or 6 books (this is the fanatic level...LOL!)
Additional levels:
--Fa La La La Films: watch a bunch or a few Christmas movies...it's up to you!
--Visions of Sugar Plums: read books with your children this season and share what you read
I'm aiming at the Mistletoe level, since I definitely want to read Mystery in White and Holiday with a Twist....
I wasn't going to sign up for any reading challenges this year - but then I saw the Cloak and Dagger challenge is being hosted by Stormi at Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! and Barb from Booker T’s Farm. I couldn't resist.

I did not read as many Christmas stories as I would have liked for the Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge, but I did complete the Mistletoe Level which is what I was aiming for. I also completed Visions of Sugar Plumbs, reading a couple of Christmas stories with my niece on Christmas Day.
What I read:
Advent Illustrated by Sara Laughed (review)
A Highland Christmas by M.C. Beaton (review)
'Twas the Night before Christmas by Clement C. Moore
Santa Duck by David Milgrim
Happy Holidogs by Ed Heck
Thanks again to Michelle for hosting this annual challenge....
The Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge starts today and runs through January 6. Of course I'm joining in, any excuse to read Christmas stories works for me. I'm aiming for the Mistletoe Level which is 2-4 books. If you want to join in, head over to The Christmas Spirit and sign up.
My reading list (subject to change):
Do You Believe in Santa? by Sierra Donovan
Advent Illustrated by Sara Laughed
The Great Christmas Knit-off by Alexandra Brown
Five Questions of Christmas by Robert Burkhart
Today also starts the Christmas Spirit Read-a-thon. I do love the low-pressure, week-long read-a-thons Michelle hosts. You don't have to read only Christmas books during the read-a-thon, but I'll definitely read at least one holiday tale. I you want to join in, head over to Seasons of Reading to sign up. Once I start reading after work today, I'll just keep updates here.
Finished:
From Resorting to Murder: "Holiday Task" by Leo Bruce 6 pages, "Murder!" by Arnold Bennett 21 pages, "The Hazel Ice" by H....
