I know I'm a day late, but I did run  into one  new-to-me word this week. metanoia - a profound, usually spiritual, transformation; conversion “Jesus' "baptism,' begun in the Jordan and completed on Golgotha, is repentance, self-denial, metanoia to the fullest. John present his baptism as a washing from sin, a turning from self to God. My thoughts: I'm not sure what I expected when I opened this book, but this wasn't it. It basically is a collection of mostly short quotes, which is interesting, but, at least for me, not all that useful.  I will share a couple of the quotes from the book that really struck me, though. Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about new authors… What is your policy when it comes to new authors? Do you feel comfortable purchasing a book or do you prefer to borrow new authors from the library? How often do you 'try out' a new author? I don't really have a policy regarding "new" authors. Since I get most of my books from the library, I don't really have to worry about whether or not to spend the money on them. I try out new authors fairly often, usually after reading a review or because it's a read for one of the on-line book groups I'm in. For my daughter, however, I will buy pretty much whatever book she wants, whether it's from an author I've heard of or not. I think it's important for her to have her own library, and when I was younger I felt the need to own just about every book I read. See what others think at Just One More Page......
