National Napping Day

National Napping Day

Today’s National Napping Day! Apparently the unofficial holiday started in 1999 and serves as a reminder to us all that sleep is an essential and healthy part of our daily routine.

I love a nap. There are few things better than taking time out in the middle of the day to lie down and go to sleep. Forget about the chores, ignore the kid, keep the dog out of the bedroom. It’s refreshing, puts me in a good mood. My family knows that every Sunday afternoon, I get to disappear into the bedroom for an hour or so for a nap, no disturbances.

I wish I could take a nap this afternoon, but no, I have to be at work. And I have to walk home for lunch and then walk back since my husband accidentally took my car key with him, so no time to sneak one in.

So, what about you? Are you a napper?

  1. I had no idea there’s a National Napping Day! I will have to tell my husband- maybe he can sneak one in at work. I do like a good nap now and then, especially when I haven’t slept well at night, but it’s hard to find quiet time for them with a five-year-old in the house!

I took a half an hour nap today before Max insisted it was time to get up. Had I realized it was National Nap Day I would had napped longer 🙂
That was not nice of your husband!

  3. Hmmm..I don’t nap in the afternoon, but sometimes I’ll crawl back in bed in the morning. I usually wake up between 5a.m. and 6a.m. Then I’ll go back to bed around 8am and sleep for an hour. Then I’m ready to hit the hay around 9p.m.

  4. I see what you mean now- I click on my name and get that strange bible site. I did notice the URL has two letters transposed- it says blogpsot not blogspot. No idea why, gonna try and figure this out. How long has the link been messed up like that?
