Tiger in Red Weather

Tigers in Red Weather by Liza Klaussmann is high up on my reading list for this summer. Yes, I know summer is almost halfway over, but my copy is sitting on the shelf just waiting for me to pick it up. In the meantime, thanks to the Hatchette Book Group I have three copies to giveaway.

Summary (from Goodreads):

Nick and her cousin, Helena, have grown up sharing sultry summer heat, sunbleached boat docks, and midnight gin parties on Martha’s Vineyard in a glorious old family estate known as Tiger House. In the days following the end of the Second World War, the world seems to offer itself up, and the two women are on the cusp of their ‘real lives’: Helena is off to Hollywood and a new marriage, while Nick is heading for a reunion with her own young husband, Hughes, about to return from the war.

Soon the gilt begins to crack. Helena’s husband is not the man he seemed to be, and Hughes has returned from the war distant, his inner light curtained over. On the brink of the 1960s, back at Tiger House, Nick and Helena–with their children, Daisy and Ed–try to recapture that sense of possibility. But when Daisy and Ed discover the victim of a brutal murder, the intrusion of violence causes everything to unravel. The members of the family spin out of their prescribed orbits, secrets come to light, and nothing about their lives will ever be the same.

Brilliantly told from five points of view, with a magical elegance and suspenseful dark longing, Tigers in Red Weather is an unforgettable debut novel from a writer of extraordinary insight and accomplishment.

Doesn’t that sound fantastic?

The giveaway is open to US and Canada addresses only, no PO boxes. Enter using the form below by July 29. Three random winners will be announced on this post on July 30.

Hi Carol, I have been reading and subscribing to your blog and this book sounds like something that I would really be interested in! I love historical fiction that involves a mystery!

  • I have a huge pile of books under my bed that I’ll be working my way through this summer, but the NEW release that I’m most looking forward to reading is Margot Livesey’s THE FLIGHT OF GEMMA HARDY.

  • Ever since I read about “Tigers in Red Weather” in People and Entertainment Weekly, I have been looking forward to reading it. 🙂 I’m also looking forward to “The Twelve” by Justin Cronin (which is the sequel to his book, “The Passage). Just finished reading “Gone Girl” which had been on my “looking forward” to list. 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win a copy of “Tigers in Red Weather.” I think it would be the perfect book to take out on the front porch and escape with. 🙂

This one, of course. In addition, I have a wishlist of 13 books. I won’t get to them all this summer, of course. One is IN THE SHADOW OF THE BANYON. Another is SHINE SHINE SHINE. Another is GONE GIRL.
