My teaser:
One day a group of my fellow campers threw a knife at a stunned bullfrog in the middle of the main path while counselors walked by, unmoved, the knife edging closer and closer until one camper stuck the knife in the bullfrog’s back and its heart seemed to jump out of its mouth. That was camp play.

How awful! Makes me glad I never went away to camp when I was a kid. Is the rest of the book that gruesome?
Ugh, that’s horrible. This doesn’t sound like something I’d want to read!
The book actually has a lot of funny spots. This was just the part I happened to turn to.
Bunch of little psychos! Poor froggy. Not that I never tortured my share of ants.
