I am so tired this morning. I wish I had taken the time to heat up some coffee before I left.
I only got one book last week, which means I finished more than I picked up, a good thing. The book is Hell and Gone by Duane Swierczynski, from Mulholland Books via NetGalley. It’s the second in the Charlie Hardie series and I have to know what happens to him. Mailbox Monday is taking a blog tour. This month’s host is Staci at Life in the Thumb.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. Here’s what I wrote about last week.
Reviews:
- Fun and Games by Duane Swierczynski
- The Bat Scientists by Mary Kary Carson
- “Bluebeard’s Ghost” by William Makepeace Thackeray
- A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny
- “The Witness for the Prosecution” by Agatha Christie
Other posts:
- “In Need of a Champion”– original flash fiction
Currently, I’m reading/listening to:
- The Cruelest Month by Louise Penny
- Belladonna in Hollywood by Alex Severin
- Still Alice by Lisa Genova
So I actually finished a few, all of which I posted reviews for.
- Fun and Games by Duane Swierczynski
- The Bat Scientists by Mary Kary Carson
- “Bluebeard’s Ghost” by William Makepeace Thackeray
Starting later this week, Tea Time with Marce is hosting a Thrill Week. I’m looking forward to it.
According to Marce:
It is all about Networking with Bloggers and Authors who love to read and write Thrillers, Mystery, Suspense and/or Horrors. The goal is to find new blogs and bloggers with similar interest in those genres and of course add to our huge TBR and Wishlists. We will highlight authors that write in these genres or new authors with amazing debuts.
There will be a ‘Thrill Ride/Blog Hop’ to start off the event, I would like to request only those that review minimum of twice a month in the above genres to participate.
There will be giveaways, LOTS and LOTS of Giveaways.
I would be exhausted after compiling your wonderful post…I am totally ticketed out by Irene…the worst part is putting everything back…deck, furniture, plants…
Thanks, Carol, for sharing!!!
I know about tired, I did not get much done today after such a hectic weekend. I hope the coffee was nice 🙂
I never had any. The picture was just wishful thinking.
Wow that poster for Thrill Week blew me away. very clever and chilling too.
Enjoy the loot and fingers crossed that your reads hit the top notch for thrill reads. Have you heard of Before I go to Sleep?? It is pretty thrilling trying to figure out who is telling the truth now.
Glad you’re enjoying the series so far. Hope the latest installment is a good one!
I’m so glad to have discovered the Tea Time event via your site! I love suspense novels!! But like you, Im not too into horror. I tried to read Full Dark, No Stars and had to sleep with the lights on haha.
Carol, thanks so much for posting about the event, look forward to seeing you and some of your blogging friends.
Looks like you had a busy week last week and read a lot of great books! Hope you have another successful week!
I hope you’re awake now and find some time to read this week!
Still Alice was such a good book! I love Netgalley, and have quite a few books I need to read for review on there soon. 🙂
Your coffee cup brimming with that delicious looking substance made me really want more coffee!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and books….
Here’s MY MONDAY MEMES POST

That coffee looks so good…
Much as I love acquiring new books, weeks with more books completed than added to the pile are very good weeks! Congratulations!
It’s always a good week if you can read more than you bring into the house 🙂 I started working on my Thrill Week questionaire tonight. Should be fun.
“Belladonna in Hollywood” sounds interesting. Have a wonderful week 😀
