I usually participate in a few year-long reading challenges which are always a lot of fun, but this year I think I’m going to do things a little differently. Here’s my plan, each month I’ll be going on a different adventure. Granted not all my posts will revolve around the month’s theme, but we’ll see how it works out. Happily several bloggers are hosting month long events that I’m looking forward to participating in, and I’ve got a couple of ideas of my own.
I’ve got the first four months figured out.
January – Shakespeare Reading Month hosted by A Literary Odyssey
February – Venice in February hosted by Bellezza and Ally from Snow Feathers
March – March Mystery Madness hosted at Reading Thru the Night
April – Blogging from A to Z hosted by Arlee Bird at its own blog.
December will obviously be Christmas. I’m thinking Baseball in July, maybe, and I need a Wild West Month. I’m considering spending one month reading a series that I’ve always wanted to get to, but haven’t yet. And maybe a month of classics.
Any suggestions for the rest of the year? Or events I should know about?
Great to see A to Z in your plans!
Have a wonderful 2012!

This is actually a great idea! I love challenges but I tend to get overwhelmed thinking about them all at the same time. Your plan lets you focus on one group of books at a time…genius! 🙂
This sounds wonderful! Especially March Mystery Madness – I really love that one. I’m sort of rethinking all my challenges for 2012 too, but they’re hard to resist.
I do not know of any events but those at least seem fun
Wow…I feel like even more of an unplanned random reader than I already am…you put me to shame…
Have fun?
There’s still plenty of room for random, and I’m only doing themes I really want to.
You are much more organized than I am!!
In my head. We’ll see how it actually works out in reality.
So glad you’ve included the Venice in February challenge among your list for 2012!
Maybe a month about book covers, books solely chosen because I love their cover.
