I’m not a big fan of cold weather or the sun setting at 5:00. The upside though is evenings spent curled up on the couch under an afghan with a cup of hot chocolate, reading. I’ve got so many great books to choose from sitting on my shelves and these new ones arrived at my house during October. Mailbox Monday was meme started by Marcia and is hosted this month by Edgy Inspirational Romance this month, but since their post isn’t up yet, Kathy over at BermudaOnion’s Weblog has a linky up.
Humbug Witch by Lorna Balian from Star Bright Books via NetGalley (Review)
Not Young, Still Restless by Jeanne Cooper from Harper Collins
The Hollow Man by Oliver Harris from Harper Collins
Blood Line by Lynda La Plante from Harper Collins
Owlet by Emma Michaels won from the author during her blog tour
A Christmas Garland by Anne Perry from Ballantine Books via Net Galley

Jesus: Pure and Simple by Wayne Cordeiro from Bethany House via Net Galley
I know what you mean about the short days. It gets dark so early it feels like it’s time to go to bed at 8:00. I hope you love your new books.
I agree with the getting dark early problem but I so love sitting on the couch under a down blanket with hot chocolate and a book.
ENJOY your new reads. THANKS for sharing.

Great mailbox 😀 Happy reading
You have a wonderful variety of books to read!
You might need more than one cup of hot chocolate for that stash!
Enjoy!
Happy reading 🙂 I agree, hot chocolate, a cozy afghan and a good book are perfect for this time of year.
The Nutcracker is definitely a weird book–I listened to Christopher Plummer in an audio version many moons ago, and couldn’t stop listening to it but was relieved when it was over. I will be interested to hear how you like it. The cover is wonderful, though.
I’m supposed to be getting that Nutcracker book too. She emailed me. Hope I do! I love the story of the Nutcracker. You really received some great books. I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week!
I’m not sure what’s worse, the early darkness or the cold. And if I get too comfortable on the couch with a book, I fall asleep! Hopefully your new books will keep you reading late into the night. 🙂
I have a habit of falling asleep too. especially when the book hasn’t totally grabbed me. 🙂
Like the look of some of these – especially Owlet and the Christmas Garland. Will have to keep an eye out for your review.
Lynn 😀
Goodness you had a lot of books come your way this week, not one that I am familiar with!
The Nutcracker looks fantastic! I’m not a fan of the colder days either, but I do love the crunchy leaves and the fall…it’s winter I can’t stand. LOL
