I thought I’d show off a few of the crafts we made at our church’s Advent Workshop. They’re cute and easy. It’s a family event and the activities were designed so a wide age group could participate.
Isn’t she adorabe? The gave us the wooden shape with the holes drilled in the top for the candy canes. I painted on the face with a Sharpie paint marker. They did have google eyes and a cute little red pom-pom nose to glue on instead, but I like the way she turned out. There were several choices of ribbon and I just made a little bow and hot-glued it on. It was actually supposed to be between the antlers, which would have been a little less girly, but I think she’s cute.
This is one of those cinnamon-scented pine cones. They organizer hot-glued a ribbon loop on top and then we painted the tips to look like they had snow on them. After that dried, we added glitter glue to give it some sparkle. I used red, as you can see, and Amber used green.
This is Amber’s nutcracker. Mine didn’t turn out so nicely. They were little unfinished wooden nutcrackers that we painted with a variety of Sharpie marker pens.
We also decorated clear glass ornament, but my photos of those didn’t turn out so well. I have to admit, I love making Christmas crafts. I’ve still got a couple I’m working on. I’ll share photos when, and if, they turn out well.
What a fun event for your church to host!!
That is an awesome idea!
how cute!!! love the nutcracker!
Oh I really like that reindeer! And my son had made the cones in school. Those are nice to have. Great picks! They will have fun making these. 🙂
So cute. Gage is not interested in crafts but I keep trying to find fun ones. Not sure if Sharpies or paint would be more enticing.
I think the paint markers help cut down on the mess but still worked really well on the wood.
What fun! I like the reindeer’s face, very sweet drawing.
