Readers workouts

Here are my steps for the week. I’m not doing so well. I need some kind of goal to be aiming for.



I did not follow my current plan at all this week. The theory is to do a core workout on Monday, cardio on Tuesday (60 mins), upper body on Wednesday, cardio on Thursday (60 mins), total body workout on Friday and cardio on Saturday (60+ mins). I did none of that.

    Is the plan failing you? It took me quite a while to figure out what would work — and it’s far short of what I would consider ideal. I’m sure I “should” be doing more strength-training and I “should” be aiming for 10,000 steps every day instead of 8000 most days. Still, my real goal is to be able to garden without pain and to be able walk around a city all day when I travel with a reasonable amount of energy. Both of those things are happening, so I’ve declared that my exercise is good enough.

    • I think that’s my problem – lack of a real goal. I’m fairly in shape – not great but not bad. I can carry the dog if I have to and ran 13.1 miles in September, but I don’t have anything I’m really working toward. I don’t think it’s that the plan is bad, it’s the lack of motivation that’s doing me in.
