I don’t know if I don’t read many thrillers or just don’t classify many things I do read as thrillers. My Goodreads list only shows that I’ve read 26 since I joined in 2007, but considering how many mysteries and spy novels I read, I find that unlikely. I found this definition on-line: “Thrillers are intended to arouse feelings of excitement or suspense, and sometimes fear. The stories generally contain dark or serious themes. Thrillers are sensational, focused on illegal activities, and involve sex and violence.”
I’m going to have to go with Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn as my favorite, at least that I’ve read in recent years. I listened to it on audio at the beginning of 2016 and found it engrossing. I never did get around to watching the movie though.

I think ‘Gone Girl’ is the perfect example of a Thriller! I enjoyed the book but didn’t really love it.
Thanks for joining and sharing your favorite 😉
Not read it 😉
Gone girl is one of my favorite thrillers too!
The movie is pretty good. I believe Gillian Flynn either wrote or helped with the script and it shows. Some changes made sense for the screen, others were a bit weird. The movie makes Nick a lot more sympathetic and Amy is not quite as strong as she was in the book. I don’t really know how to explain it. The actress did a decent job, but there was a certain fierceness that was lacking.
I liked that one a lot too. Have you read Behind Closed Doors?
No, not yet.
I really liked Behind Closed Doors.
Gone Girl was a pretty good thriller. I love thrillers for sure.
I have recently started reading thrillers again. I read Gone Girl a few years ago. I have to say I wasn’t a fan. =( But I know a lot of people who loved it.
