There are a lot of great book moms. Some are warm, some strong, some misunderstood, some doing their best in a given situation, but I don’t have many favorites. In all honesty, I tend to avoid books featuring kids, which means I don’t see women characters in their mom roles very often.
It’s been a while since I’ve read Room by Emma Donoghue and it was not one of my favorite books, but Ma deserves a place in the best book moms list. She was kidnapped and raped repeatedly, held captive and had a child, but she loves her son, Jack, with all her heart and does everything she can to help him be happy, learn, play, and eventually escape. I’ll grant you, she’s not perfect, but how could she be?

Oh yes, Ma was so brave and wonderful!
She was really pretty amazing.
Ooo, I forgot about her! Not a huge fan of the book. (I mean it was good, but definitely overhyped.) But yes, she was a great book mom! *^-^*
Yeah, I wasn’t a big fan of the book either.
I didn’t play today. I loved the book and the movie, although the movie wasn’t as good.
I didn’t watch the movie – and I don’t think I really want to.
I’ve never heard about this one. My favorite book mom is definitely Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series! I just love her!
Thanks for signing up and sharing your favortie.
The book came out in 2010. I think the movie was 2015, but I never saw it.
I haven’t read this one or watched the movie. But I do agree that she would be a great book mom!
I didn’t love the book, partly, I think, because it just go so much hype at the time and it didn’t quite live up to it for me.
