Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Today’s topic is “Book Events/Festivals I’d Love to Go to Someday (Real or Fictional),” suggested by Nandini @ Unputdownable Books. Here’s my list. I’m going to ignore that most of these have either been canceled or took place online this year. I have to assume that they’ll all be back in a year or two, especially since several happen in places I’d love to visit.
- National Book Festival, Washington, D.C.
- Malice Domestic, Bethesda, Maryland
- International Agatha Christie Festival, Torquay, Devon, England
- Edinburgh International Book Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland
- Savannah Book Festival, Savannah, Georgia
- Bloody Scotland, Stirling, Scotland
- PEN World Voices Festival, New York City, New York
- Hay Festival, Hay-on-Wye, Wales
- Jane Austen Festival, Bath, Somerset, England
- Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Los Angeles, California
The Hay Festival sounds so fun!
My TTT .
I think so. And it seems like somewhere I’d enjoy visiting too.
Great list! Here’s my TTT list this week.
It’s so fun to dream about going to all of them.
exciting list!
Which ones do you want to go with me to?
The Jane Austen Festival and the Hay Festival sound like a lot of fun! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
So many places and events to go to. I really need to start traveling once it’s doable again.
Well, it certainly isn’t THE Jane Austen Festival in Bath, but the one in Louisville KY is available online still! I went in person a few years ago and it was fun. Here’s a link to the recordings from this year’s festival. That said, I’d love to go to Bath for that one! I visited Bath in ’77 I was 14, a hopelessly uneducated American who’d never heard of Jane Austen. My grandmother was sooooo embarrassed! lol I now love Jane. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFtUQCvZGwRGwBUJ-UI5vaQ?view_as=subscriber
That’s so funny that your grandmother was embarrassed. Thanks for the link to this year’s festival in Louisville.
By the time we did the Lake District and I had no clue on Sir Walter Scott, either, she was sure I was illiterate in spite of the novels I’d been reading the whole time! lol Of course, she also learned German and Latin in school in the same state that neglected my education! She born in 1904, me in ’62. Different world.
I want to go to the Jane Austen festival so badly – especially after watching Austenland!
My TTT
It just seems like so much fun!
Yes, hopefully they will be back at some point. I’d love to go to the National Book Festival, too. My son and I love DC.
It’s been ages since I’ve been to DC and our daughter never has.
I would love to go the Hay festival.
Me too. Maybe one of these days.
So many intriguing ones out there! I hope one day you get to attend them all!
One day. Hopefully, they all have something nearby to keep my husband occupied.
