It was actually a little cooler around here this past week, pleasant, and even some rain. It was kind of nice to be back on my regular schedule for a week.
I did receive a few books over the last couple of weeks. Mailbox Monday is taking a blog tour. This month’s host is Staci at Life in the Thumb.
- If Jack’s in Love by Stephen Wetta (from Putnam)
- Hidden in Paris by Corine Gantz (a win from My Love Affair with Books. Thanks Misha!)
- Between the Thames and the Tiber by Ted Riccardi (from Open Road Media via NetGalley)
- Three Sisters by Helen Smith (a win from Her Book Self. Thanks Lisa!)
I’m looking forward to reading them. I know I always say that, but I always mean it. Something about every book I receives attracts me, whether I end up actually liking the book or not.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. Here’s what I wrote about last week.
Reviews:
- The Butterfly Cabinet by Bernie McGill (I loved it!)
- “Godfather Death” by the Brothers Grimm
- The Curse of Scattershale Gulch by Camille LaGuire
- The Hanging Wood by Martin Edwards
Also, Debra Brenegan, author of Shame the Devil, wrote an interesting guest post about learning from historical fiction.
I wrote a quick flash fiction piece, “A New Dawn.” If you read it, please give me you honest opinion.
I didn’t finish any books this week, although I’m close on a couple.
Currently, I’m reading/listening to:
- A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny
- The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin
- Fun and Games by Duane Swierczynski
- Belladonna in Hollywood by Alex Severin
What are you reading?
Nice week
(and I loved the flash)
Isn’t it fun to get books! Enjoy yours!
Hidden in Paris looks good. Enjoy your new books!
Enjoy your new reads! I buy so many books, I’ve kind of given up on posting them, lol, it’s embarrassing really. I have a problem, but I can’t help myself. Book-a-holics here I come! (but on the up side… only 4 paperbacks… not counting the ones my hubs and kids bought… or the one I accepted for review….they have much better control than I do) I have promised myself to slow down my buying habits, trying to read what I have…

It’s still pretty darn hot here. Hidden in Paris looks intriguing to me.
I enjoy Louise Penny as well. Here’s my week:

Looks like you had a great week last week, and got some good books to enjoy too.
Hope you have a wonderful week this week.
I’m posting late this week because I’ve been on a trip to the mountains and out of reach of the internet. Please come see what I’ve read.
You got some good wins this week
Sounds like some great reads! Enjoy!
Our entire summer has been rainy and cool, and it just started to get sunny and warm this week!
I haven’t heard of any of these books, but I hope you enjoy them!
