Think of your blog as a mirror: what does it reveal? Consider your blog name, theme choice, design, bio, posts… what does every element tell you about yourself?
The title of my blog is pretty self-explanatory. This is my space to write about what I want to, although it is mostly about books. I like the quote from Holbrook Jackson I included too. “The end of reading is not more books but more life.” I like to believe reading helps you enjoy life more, learn more about the world and people around, experience places and things outside of your own circle. Books can inspire ideas, begin journeys. I also write about fairy tales or folktales weekly, which fall into the same general category. They are the stories that help define us as people, that have shaped our earliest memories, that are some of the first stories we’re told as children.
I like the kind of peachy and teal colors I’m using right now. They feel feminine and pretty, but sometimes I wish I could make my own purpley, sparkly design. I’m just not that talented.
I don’t have a bio page, just never bothered to make one. Most of my regular followers probably know me pretty well, based on my opinions, photos I share, comments I make in other places. I have shared my bucket list, which helps me remember some of the things I want to accomplish, places I want to go. I don’t do much goal-planning for my life, so that list kind of fills the void. I also have a private page that I’ll eventually make public that lists the 5K runs I’ve participated in and my times. Running is not something I would have imagined myself doing ten years ago and it’s not something I necessarily enjoy, but it does make me feel like I’m trying to move and stay healthy. And I can listen to audiobooks while I run. 🙂
What I don’t put on my blog – embarrassing stories about my daughter, my opinions on social issues, negative comments about my family /friends. Sometimes they may slip out on Twitter, though. It’s not because I don’t have stories or complaints or opinions, I just choose not to share them. I share bits of my personal life, usually through photos, but this is primarily a book blog, not a soapbox.

Tricky isn’t it? I like the current feel and look of your space and I think the Saturday Snapshots help fill in the gaps for book bloggers. We all want to know the other stuff too!
My site needs a COMPLETE overhaul but i barely have time to keep my head above water right now so it will have to wait!
I like your blog. It’s simple and easy to read. On the other hand, I know I’m never quite happy with mine either.
Since I read most of the blogs via a reader, I find that I’m not looking at the overall look of a blog, just the post I’m reading at the time.
I don’t know what my blog says about me. Probably that I haven’t made up my mind what I want it (or me) to be.
