Hello, Readathon participants! Welcome to the Artful Covers Mini-Challenge!
Find an artsy image that you think would make a great cover for your current read. Please make sure your selection is free and legal to use, and be sure to credit the artist/photographer. You can also take a photo or draw a quick picture yourself, if you’re artistic. Share your cover on your blog, Twitter, or Instagram. If you don’t use social media (or if you’re too focused on reading), you can post it in the comments here.
An example: Picked Off by Linda Lovely is on my stack for today. The main character lives on a goat farm. I wish I could take credit for the picture, but I had my daughter paint it for me.
I found this image on pixabay.com. I think it could make a beautiful book cover, just not for anything I’m reading right now.
Now it’s your turn! Find or create a cover and share. We’ll use the hashtag #artfulcovers in addition to #readathon. Also, it would be awesome if you’d tag me, @carolsnotebook. One randomly selected participant will win a $10 Amazon gift card or a book of their choice up to $10 from the Book Depository.
Update:
The winner is @spinesinaline. Here’s her tweet.
I’m not sure what book to pair this with but I really liked this photo I took last year. Definitely not my current read but maybe next on my list #readathon #artfulcovers @carolsnotebook pic.twitter.com/xDeiHfC0eA

This is a lovely idea for a challenge! I’ve just posted my image on my Instagram stories 🙂 It’s a detail the f Raeburn’s Mrs. John Campbell of Mulberry (1802), and it fits Invitation to the Waltz, by Rosamond Lehmann 🙂
Thanks for participating!

How fun!! Here is a link to the image I would pick for ShadowShaper by Daniel José Older https://www.pinterest.com/pin/798614946393858828/
That’s a good fit. My daughter has ShadowShaper on her shelf, but I haven’t read it yet.

Yes, totally!

Posted on Twitter @srweiss. Thanks for a great challenge! Happy reading y’all!
Thanks for participating!
I’m currently reading Furious Love, about Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. I keep picturing her in a white silk slip, in rooms pulsing in red. I think this pic works great for it! https://pixabay.com/en/woman-legs-foot-silk-erotic-1995696/
Very cool challenge!
I love that image – subtly sexy. Thanks for participating!
Love this challenge! I would have made a much better cover with more time. Here’s the image I chose:

I love the painting. Thanks for participating!
I do not have twitter, tubler or instagram account, also, no blog too. I know, it’s like I don’t exist.
I was still thinking about this challenge. The book is Sword of destiny, the second book in Witcher series. The image that could be fitting is here https://image.shutterstock.com/z/stock-photo-metal-sword-on-a-dark-background-with-snow-d-render-743441950.jpg
That’s perfect. And I know not everyone has social media, which is why I wanted to have an option to leave the comment here. Hope you had a great readathon. Thanks for playing along.
