Summer 24-Hour Readathon

Summer 24-Hour Readathon

The Reverse Summer Readathon starts now! I love that it's running 8pm - 8am eastern this time around. I slept in this morning. I don't have anything in the schedule until Sunday morning. I'm looking forward to a lot of reading time. I'm prepared: I've got my snacks, I've got my books, I've got food for meals and plenty of coffee and pop. Updates will be here at the blog, instagram (@carolsnotebook), and twitter (@carolsnotebook). I'm starting tonight at the softball field (my husband's playing a triple-header this evening in the church softball league) but I have the Kindle app on my phone stocked. First up is Picked Off by Linda Lovely. I'm already about 1/4 of the way into it. Opening Survey 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Eastern Ohio 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I'm not sure. I don't really have a tbr list set up, so I'm just reading...

It’s Readathon Time!!

It’s Readathon Time!!

It's Read-a-thon time! It's Read-a-thon time! I actually probably won't get to start reading for a couple of hours - because I'm probably still asleep right now. I'm not good at waking up on Saturdays, even for readathons. Opening Meme 1 What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I'm going to start by finishing The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler and The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware. After that I'm not sure. 3 Which snack are you most looking forward to? I'm on my own for most of today. I'm having spaghetti and sauce for dinner and maybe an apple turnover. I also picked up some crackers and cheese. 4 Tell us a little something about yourself! I read mostly mysteries, with the occasional romance or fantasy. 5 If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different...

Readathon Mini-Challenge: Artful Covers

Readathon Mini-Challenge: Artful Covers

Hello, Readathon participants! Welcome to the Artful Covers Mini-Challenge! Find an artsy image that you think would make a great cover for your current read. Please make sure your selection is free and legal to use, and be sure to credit the artist/photographer. You can also take a photo or draw a quick picture yourself, if you're artistic. Share your cover on your blog, Twitter, or Instagram. If you don't use social media (or if you're too focused on reading), you can post it in the comments here. An example: Picked Off by Linda Lovely is on my stack for today. The main character lives on a goat farm. I wish I could take credit for the picture, but I had my daughter paint it for me. I found this image on pixabay.com. I think it could make a beautiful book cover, just not for anything I'm reading right now. Now it's your turn! Find or create a cover and share. We'll use the hashtag #artfulcovers...
