Lucan by Susan Kearney – Guest Post and Giveaway

I want to thank Susan Kearney, author of Lucan, for taking a page in my notebook today to tell us a little about why she loves fantasy and about her Pendragon trilogy. Read on for a chance to win Lucan, the first in the trilogy. I just finished it yesterday and it was great. Why I love Fantasy As a child I grew up reading science fiction.  As an adult I loved romance.  Nothing makes me happier than combining the two genres and writing futuristic romance. Take Lucan, the first book in my Pendragon Legacy trilogy.  The hero is an archeologist who finds a star map that may lead him to the Holy Grail.  I mean that’s cool.  And after he crosses the galaxy, he never expects to find a planet called Pendragon, or to fall for the High Priestess of Avalon.  Of course, she’s special.  And she has a secret.  She’s a dragon shaper.  She can morph into a fire breathing dragon. ...

Laced with Magic by Barbara Bretton

Laced with Magic by Barbara Bretton Even if you're a sorceress-in-training, finding your true love does not guarantee your problems are all over. In fact, it's just the opposite in this follow-up to Casting Spells, which I reviewed last week. This story picks up where it left off. Bretton does a good job of giving enough of the background, though, that readers new to the sereis could catch right on. Chloe Hobbs, sorceress-in-training and owner of Sticks & Strings knitting shop, has fallen head-over-heels for Luke MacKenzie, a human cop staying temporarily in Sugar Maple, Vermont. Of course, he's the only human in Sugar Maple, but for the most part he manages to get along with vampires, werewolves, etc. But trouble's just around the bend. Luke's ex-wife shows up talking about their dead daughter, Steffie, trying to contact her. Another human is exactly what the townsfolk don't want. To top it off, Luke's daughter's spirit is being held hostage by a Fae leader we already know...

Lie By Moonlight by Amanda Quick

Lie by Moonlight by Amanda Quick, read by Anne Flosnik Description: The curriculum for Miss Concordia Glade's classroom has expanded from languages and social graces to explosives because that's the only way she can think of to get her charges out of their castle/prison before something terrible happens. Concordia not only destroys the building but also has to kill a thug who attacks her and her girls as they try to escape. Gentleman thief turned private investigator, Ambrose Wells, who's at Aldwick Castle to look into other matters, can't believe what he's seeing, and spirits Concordia and the four teens away to the safety of his London townhouse.
