For today’s #AMonthofFaves post we’re picking our favorite winter reads from last winter. A Month of Favorites is hosted by hosted by Girlxoxo, Traveling with T and Estella’s Revenge. Today’s link-up is at Estella’s Revenge.
I’m looking at books I read December ’13 through February ’14, but only one is very seasonal.
The Line by J. D. Horn – I’m not sure if this was really good or if I just happened to read it at the right time. Either way, I gave it 5 stars.
The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø – good “damaged” detective, great writing. This was the first Nesbø I had read.
Harmless by Ernie Lindsey – Definitely an odd book, centered around a very unusual character.
The Grumpy Shepherd by Pattie Devon – Yes, it’s a kids Christmas picture book, but I enjoy it every year.
Invitation to Die by Helen Smith – Writers and bloggers and murder, oh my!
What were your favorite reads last winter?
I’ve read a couple Nesbo’s and liked The Snowman best (come to think of it, I totally should have included that on my 5 Winter Faves List – oops!). But, I haven’t read The Redbreast. However, I get annoyed at how the marketing machines bill him as “the next Stieg Larsson”…I like that expectation just sets you up for disappointment! Plus, he has his own style.
I haven’t read any of these, but a few caught my attention.
That list is sure you 🙂
I still haven’t tried Nesbo. *Sigh*
I haven’t read The Redbreast yet but I’m a huge Nesbo fan too!
I’d not heard of any of these. Oys! I love the Grumpy Shepherd cover. How funny. Might have to get that one for mom. She loves kids books 🙂
Harmless and Invitation to Die look like two for my TBR list. Hope my library has them.
The Line is sitting on my shelf thanks to you 🙂
