I’ve been trying to pull together a stack of “possibles” for the Read-a-Thon. These are ones I pulled off the shelf yesterday.
- Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
- So Into You by Sandra Hill
- Julie & Julia by Julie Powell
- Flesh and Fire by Laura Ann Gilman
- The Italian Secretary by Caleb Carr
- Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
- Peacekeeper by Laura E. Reeve
- Still Life by Louise Penny
- Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan
- The Italian’s Inexperienced Mistress by Lynne Graham
- Branded by the Sheriff by Delores Fossen
- An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage
- The Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny (in The Great Book of Amber)
I know I won’t get them all read, obviously. Also, I may end of grabbing entirely different ones. I figure I can always go to Amber’s bookshelves if I just need a short easy something for a break. Also, I’ll read a little with Amber, but I’m not sure what we’ll be reading by then. I told her she can stay up late if she’s reading with me and I’ll post anything she reads, too.
I think my husband is finally realizing that I actually mean that I’m taking a whole day to just read. Or at least as close to a whole day as I can. He’s planning on having our friends over for games that night instead of Friday so he’ll have something to do.
Good luck with your reading. Seems that you have a great stack of books to choose from!
It looks like you’re well prepared. Have fun with the read-a-thon.
Impressive stack. I haven’t heard of most of those books. Enjoy the read-a-thon!
Frankenstein…a very good one! I’m amazed at how well-written it is given how young Shelley was at the time.
OK, is this a day or a month? That’s a lot of reading material.
Good luck with your challenge!
I’m eyeing Julie & Julia.
LOL–and will you just hole yourself up while the company is over?
My husband will be out of town this weekend and while than means no interruptions it also means no one told hold me accountable for actually staying up!
Julie & Julia I think would be a good book to read! It’s better to have too many books in your stack than not enough.
Yay!!
Trish – I figure the boys’ll play Axis and Allies or something else I don’t usually play. They’ll have snacks I can share, stay up late. I can read on the couch while they play their game.
Glad to hear you’re participating. The Girl and I will be over Serena’s and the men can play video games while we read. And I’m sure The Girl will venture away from the books for a while like she did last time. Thank goodness she’s feeling better because I really wanted to participate.
I pulled out about 10 books last time and only read 1, but it’s nice to have options. This time I’ve snagged my daughter’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid books to use when I need something light.
Have a great time!
Hee Hee. I think my husband is realizing the same thing. This weekend there is a sale on the sofa we’ve been looking at for months and last night I told him to go buy in on Saturday. He couldn’t believe I wasn’t going to go with him
The only one I’ve read is Julie & Julia, and I loved it!
Good luck in the read-a-thon!!
Good list and good luck
I sure must participate too once
Oh my goodness that is quite a stack of books. Will you really be able to get through all of those in one day? I am going to have to try and find a day to have a mini read-a-thon. It sounds fun!
