This past week was a lot of fun.
Amber had a great birthday, complete with dragon cake. She got some nice presents, books, games, a model rocket kit and some drawing supplies.
We watched a couple of movies. They were both cute enough, fun but not great.
The Steelers won on Saturday, somehow.
And yesterday we went ice skating at Wheeling Park. I actually managed to stay on my feet the whole time. It’s the first time I’ve been skating in like 20 years, but I really enjoyed it. For some reason, David and Amber both thought I was going to chicken out. I don’t think I’m that much of a wuss, am I? Anyway, I don’t have any pictures of skating because I was too much of a wuss to take my camera out on the ice. I’m sure I would have fallen then and broken it. These are the skates that Amber’s borrowing from her cousin, who’s still too little for this pair.
I don’t think much out of the ordinary is on the calendar for this week. I’m planning on participating in the Winter’s Respite Read-a-Thon. I like the excuse to read, but appreciate that it’s so flexible.
What are your plans for the week?

I actually liked Gulliver’s Travels. Thought it was funny.
Love the cake Amber, hope you had a great day!
great cake!
we’re actually going iceskating this weekend for the first time.
Have fun!
Congratulations on staying on your feet while skating. Something I can’t manage to do as I always fall painfully on my bum.
And I’m jealous of the dragon cake – I think I want one for my upcoming birthday.
That is one amazing cake!! We had a birthday party celebration this weekend too, but I stuck with simple cupcakes! 🙂
I had to laugh about your Steelers comment! My hubby is a huge Steelers fan, so it was quite the exciting day on Saturday!
Yeah, it was pretty loud at our hose during the game, too.
I can Amber is a fan of dragons! I want some of that cake. 😀
