The Guest List by Lucy Foley
Books reviewed last week…
None, but I did schedule a couple for later in the year.
Watching…
No movies, nothing new on TV. Have you seen anything lately that you loved. I did watch a reading of Venus de Milo by the Pittsburgh Public Theater on Zoom. It was cute. Next week they’re doing DOT by Colman Domingo.
In the kitchen this week…
I made a delicious blueberry lemon icebox cake with blueberries from the backyard.
New to me stuff…
We played Dominion: Menagerie for the first time in Friday. It was fun, as are all the others in that board game series.
Today’s to do list…
We already got a bunch of bushes trimmed today. We’re going to my mom’s for dinner and will have to water plants later if it doesn’t rain.
Looking forward to…
We’re going to the lake for a few days later this week. Hopefully it will be nice and relaxing. I think we’re going to go kayaking one afternoon.
A quote…
Books are time travel. True readers all know this. But books don’t just take you back to the time in which they were written; they can take you back to different versions of yourself.

I was just visiting our blueberries earlier today. They aren’t ripe yet, which is probably because we are having a colder than usual summer, which is odd. Your cake looks yummy. My Sunday Salon is chalked full of good news and funnies!
We have some more ripe that need picked today or tomorrow.
That cake looks so yummy! I want some. Enjoy your time at the lake. Have a great week!
We should have fun, if it’s not miserably hot.
It’s a little cold here for an icebox cake right now but it does look tasty!
Wishing you a great reading week
Your blueberry cake looks amazing!
It turned out so pretty!
YOur blueberry cake really does look awesome.
I may actually make it again next time we have someone over for dinner. It wasn’t too tough and looks really nice.
A trip to the lake sounds like a nice break. I haven’t been out in a kayak in months. We’ve been trying to get through baby alligator season here before we go out again.
I’ve been thinking about making a lemon blueberry bread. My husband doesn’t eat cake, so I generally have to rename the cake recipes as breads. Yours looks particularly good.
We watched Les Mis last night on video. Wow. Very powerful.
*drools* that cake is making me hungryyyy
It was so rich and yummy.
I’ve tried to get the Swanson books and failed!!! Ruth Ware a solid author too. Good reading there.
I’ve only read one of his before, so I was a little leery about buying this one. So far it’s good, though.
