It’s Readathon Day!! I love a good excuse to read all day.  I’ll be posting updates here but probably more on Twitter and Instagram.

Opening Survey!

  1. What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Eastern Ohio as usual
  2. Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Everything on my list this year should be fun.
  3. Which snack are you most looking forward to? The cinnamon rolls my mother-in-law picked up for me.
  4. Tell us a little something about yourself! This is always the hardest question. I’m a mystery reader. I have two adorable, bratty dogs. (I also have a husband and adult daughter, but they are not as good reading buddies)
  5. What are your goals for this readathon? No goals really, just to spend as much reading as I want.

Half-Point Progress Report

  1. How many books have you been reading? Have you finished any? Are you on track with respect to your readathon goals so far? I’ve read parts of two books, but haven’t finished anything yet.
  2. Have you eaten real food today? (Not just junk food, ACTUAL HEALTHY FOOD) What was your favorite food or beverage so far? My waffle sandwich at lunch wasn’t terrible. My dinner of pizza was pretty junk food though. And I have baked goods for later this evening. And maybe popcorn depending on how late I stay up.
  3. Have you been participating in any of the activities on our social media (sprints, photo challenges, discussion questions, BINGO, etc.) I’ve posted a couple of photos for the challenge and answered a couple of discussion questions on Goodreads.
  4. Are you growing sleepy? Do you plan to nap, or stop early, or are you extending the readathon hours to include sleep? I’ll probably go to sleep, but maybe I’ll continue it tomorrow.
  5. Have you been outside yet today? Have you had much exercise (besides the heavy lifting required to hold your book)? Yes, I’ve been outside, both sitting in the backyard and taking the dog for a walk.
  6. How is your readathon going, overall? Pretty decent. Hopefully, I’ll be able to read more this evening.

Closing Survey

  1. How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites? 3. My favoriter was a Three Book Problem.
  2. How many books did you finish? 2
  3. Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon? i actually wish I had had more time to read. I got caught up doing some errands in the afternoon.
  4. How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time? They worked out fine. The reverse readathon will be in July. I’ll probably eat lunch at home and go out for ice cream instead of having lunch out like I did this time.
  5. Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time? I always love readathons. The most successful part was when David and Amber left the house and it was just me and my books. The least successful part was that I left one of my books out in the living room and one of our dogs chewed off the corner. At least it was a book I was finished with.
  6. Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon? I didn’t. I read some on Sunday but stopped keeping track.

Books Finished:

  • The Widening Stain by W. Bolingbroke Johnson
  • A Three Book Problem by Vicki Delany

Read Part of:

  • The Devil’s Flute Murders by Seishi Yokomizo
